Local Cat Takes Forever to Play Chess Move
Merle, noted local kitten and area chess prodigy has been unable to commit to his next move in his current game, according to sources close to the situation. He has reportedly been considering Rook to Queen’s Bishop 4, the opening move of the classic Mittens attack, popularized by chess-playing cat Mittens in 1992, but he has been unable to commit to the strategy.
“He’s just been sitting there, silently surveying the board for five hours,” said Danny Ochoa, who covers chess for the local paper. ”It’s driving everyone nuts, but this isn’t a timed game.”
